The company “Les Hauts-Fourneaux de Cousances”, the former company where the famous Doufeu casserole dish was born, was bought by Le Creuset in 1957, its main competitor at the time. Having become a subsidiary, the Cousances company retains its reputation for reliable products recognized by the catering trades.
These cocottes were, until recently, handcrafted in Fresnoy-le-Grand in the Aisne and available in the LeCreuset catalog.
